Hollywood joined forces with Silicon Valley last Friday evening to support WildAid at their annual gala. Larry King, Hayden Panettiere, Jared Leto, Maggie Q, John Corbett, Kate Flannery, and Bo Derek were among the stars raising money for WildAid.
Receiving honors at the Gala were the Google Oceans Program and Jim Clarke for the innovative use of technology to benefit ocean conservation work, including the support of the documentary film, The Cove. The 300 guest formal VIP dinner included a presentation by WildAid Founder Peter Knights and a live auction in addition to the awards.
Google VP and Keyhole founder Brian McClendon accepted the award. We’d like to also thank John Hanke and all of the Googlers who’ve worked hard to bring Dr. Earle’s vision of an explorable ocean to fruition!
Endpoint set up a Liquid Galaxy Google Earth display featuring a tour of WildAid’s conservation work around the world including a 360 panorama looking up at hammerhead sharks in Costa Rica contributed by Undersea Hunter.
