Today marks the launch of the limited-edition Sylvia Earle Hope Spot Collection. 100 percent of all proceeds will be donated for funding Mission Blue initiatives. You can learn more, browse the collection, and make your charitable gift by visiting the Mission Blue website and clicking the box that says “support” on the right side of the home page.

The original Sylvia Earle Hope Spot Collection is comprised of four fine silk scarves, each featuring a photo of marine wildlife taken by notable photographers around the world. With the initial launch, a set of four scarves will be available for purchase. And just in time for shark week, the scarf that pictures a great white shark will also be sold individually.

Mission Blue is a global initiative that was formed in response to Dr. Sylvia Earle’s 2009 TED Prize wish (see below). It is committed to inspiring a sea of change in public awareness and support for marine protected areas worldwide. Since its inception, Mission Blue has grown in scale, effectively building awareness and momentum with partners around the world.

What is good for the ocean is good for us. It isn’t too late to expand on our understanding of the world’s oceans and to use that knowledge to effect positive change.

We invite you to browse the new collection being offered to support Sylvia Earle’s mission, Mission Blue, celebrate the beauty of the ocean and make a charitable donation — your contribution provides invaluable support towards Mission Blue.
