CHANGE one personal behavior! For example, reduce your seafood consumption — or give it up all together. Or, when it comes to plastic apply the Three R’s: REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE. Learn how you can be part of the solution and go for it!

2

DONATE to Mission Blue! Your tax-deductible contributions support public outreach, scientific expeditions and direct appeals to policy makers to build a global network of Hope Spots to restore the ocean. Your support is what keeps us afloat!

3

JOIN the Mission Blue newsletter! Don’t worry we won’t overload your inbox.  Stay connected to ocean issues and support our community’s progress in raising awareness and protection for Hope Spots. Fun stuff!

4

NOMINATE your own Hope Spot! Mission Blue currently has identified 50 Hope Spots, areas of critical importance to immediately focus our conservation efforts. The ocean, however, is vast and many more habitats need better protection. Join the call for conservation today!

5

JOIN Mission Blue Social Media! Taking part in our FACEBOOK, TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, GOOGLE+ and PINTEREST communities for the best ocean content on the web. The conversation we have together continually inspires and informs our conservation efforts.

6

SUPPORT our partners! Mission Blue is partnered with nearly 100 organizations that do incredible work for our oceans. Take a moment and get to know them. Engage them on social media. Ask ways you can help them out.

7

REDUCE your carbon footprint! Carbon dioxide emissions are driving destructive climate change and ocean acidification. Do your part by riding your bike to work, driving a fuel efficient car and dressing up or down — instead of adjusting your home thermostat.

8

WATCH the Mission Blue film with your friends! Explore incredible underwater habitats while learning about ocean decline through the eyes of Dr. Sylvia Earle. This movie is a must for any ocean conservationist!

9

ORGANIZE a beach clean up in your community! No rocket science here. Just get your friends together and start filling bags with trash. It’s immensely satisfying and you can share your success on Mission Blue social media to inspire others!

10

GIVE a gift that benefits the ocean! The Mission Blue Store offers beautiful and intriguing products whose purchase benefits the ocean. For instance, have you read Dr. Earle’s new book? Or seen these gorgeous silk scarves?

Please educate yourselves about CAFO’s,FACTORY FARMING. GMO’s and how they pollute our water supply and oceans with fertilizers and pesticides. We support these industries everyday with our food choices. Rallying for climate change while snacking on factory farmed food is
    counterproductive

Sylvia Earle, you are my new hero – how is it that I had not known of your work, or your passion until now. Like most people, although I care and do many small things to make a difference, I look at the beauty of the ocean and I forget to look deeper at the desertification under the surface. I thank you ~ everyone needs a hero!
