We are pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the Board of Directors, Mr. Will Travis and Mr. John Vermilye. Mr. Travis and Mr. Vermilye bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their fields and will be tremendous assets to our Board as we further our mission to inspire action to explore and protect the ocean. “We at Mission Blue are deeply honored to welcome Will and John to the Board of Directors,” says Dr. Sylvia Earle, Founder and Chairman of Mission Blue. “They each bring deep business knowledge, a passion for ocean conservation and an unique vision for an ambitious future for Mission Blue.”

Will Travis is creative industry leader and a respected global brand builder. Over his 27 years of business, he has launched six businesses, navigated teams of 2,000 plus creatives, won hundreds of global creative awards and sold two of the world’s leading and largest creative agencies (Attik and SidLee) to global multinational holding companies (Dentsu and Hakuhodo), where he took CEO roles since 1998. He is the founder and owner of leadership transformation consultancy Elevation Barn, located in the USA and Asia and his consultancy group, Anderson Short, guides brands in design thinking and communication campaigns for good. Will has worked building the brands of many global celebrity figures and worked shoulder to shoulder with leaders transforming and launching their brands at The North Face, NIKE, Adidas, Apple, Toyota, BlackRock, Intel, Coca Cola, Ford, MetLife, AT&T and Facebook. Will sits on the board of Sylvia Earle’s ocean conservation charity Mission Blue, BlackHorn Ventures and HatchExperience and is a silent partner of Commercial Creativity conference C2 International. Throughout his career, Will has paralleled his passions for creative excellence with global exploration and adventure, summiting several of the worlds highest mountains in Antarctica and Russia, motorbiking with The Dakar Rally in Brazil, Chili and Argentina and traversing the 18,000ft Ladakh Pass in northern India by bike. He has travelled through 62 countries, lived in Europe, USA, Canada and Asia since leaving the UK in 1995.

John Vermilye is an Entrepreneur, Environmentalist and Philanthropist. 
 He is Chairman of the Swiss based Gallifrey Foundation which supports marine conservation and social enterprise education. He has been active in marine conservation issues for over 40 years and was a co-founder 
 of the Mare Nostrum Foundation with Dr. Luc Cuyvers. John’s career has been built around the airline industry and is the owner and Chairman 
 of Travel Sentry which sets standards for the luggage and airline industry providing solutions to benefit passengers, airlines, airports and 

security agencies.
