Ocean Heroes Meet in California – North to South

Dr. Sylvia Earle Courtesy of One World One Ocean Last week marked the first meeting of OceanElders, a group of global leaders that includes some of the most influential personalities of our time.  Dr. Sylvia Earle was joined in San Francisco by fellow OceanElders Sir Richard Branson, Ted Turner, HM Queen Noor, Jackson Browne, Dr. Rita Colwell, Jean-Michel Cousteau, Graeme Kelleher, Sven Lindblad, Captain Don Walsh and Neil Young. Launched in August of 2011, the goal of OceanElders is to use its considerable networks and international influence to move ocean conservation to the forefront of the global agenda.  Now, with it’s inaugural meeting last week, OceanElders will move ahead, having identified key issues of concern for the ocean.
